Several academic researchers have benefited from the help of the Montréal Exchange to undertake research on its products.

• The Exchange can supply data to researchers either for a fee or in exchange of the intellectual rights on the research and in exchange of the rights to publish or not the research paper.
• When researchers get free access to the data, they will first propose to the Exchange a summary of the research planned, the methodology employed and precisely describe the needs for the data.
