The Montreal Exchange Launch of Special Trading Session December 2, 2024

Pursuant to Circular 129-024, the Montréal Exchange is pleased to inform its participants that on December 2, 2024, the Special Trading Session from 4:00pm E.T. to 4:20pm E.T. will be launched.

During the Special Trading Session^[1], only Riskless Transactions on Options will be eligible, subject to the following conditions:

• The Riskless Transaction on Options must respect the minimum volume threshold set forth in Article 6.205 of the Rules of the Montréal Exchange;
• The Riskless Transaction on Options must have a minimum of 10% of its stocks' position that has been executed using the Market On Close facility (MOC).

To trade Riskless Transactions on Options in the special trading session, Participants will need to fill out the transactions details under "Riskless Transactions on Options" in the Special Terms Transactions Reporting Form and send the information to the Montréal Exchange between 4:00pm E.T. and 4:20pm E.T. on the day of the transaction.

Note: Riskless Transactions on Options can also be completed during the day with the Guaranteed Cross Auction functionality (message types OA in SAIL and PI in FIX), by selecting the proper "Cross Variant" parameter when executing a covered with stocks strategy. If not yet using the Guaranteed Cross Auction functionality, Riskless Transactions on Options before 4:00pm E.T. can be called in to a Market Supervisor until May 30, 2025. After this date, calls to the Market Operations Department to execute transactions will no longer be allowed.
